West Side Story

West Side Story

This year you’ll listen to much more music from Movies and Musicals!

After last year’s first release of Nino Rota music on Fellini’s movies this 2025 starts great with Bernstein’s West Side Story, masterfully arranged by Stefano Proietti, eclectic pianist, composer and arranger.

The lively spirit of the original composition, with jazz and latin music influences bursts into the harp, giving it orchestral sonorities and ovecome the limits of such a classical instrument.

It has been necessary a long and deep four-handed work to make it possible such daring, new ideas on the instrument: from choosing the right keys to the application of enharmonics for the fast, rhythmic parts.

You’ll be able to listen more very soon from this collaboration: in fact, the first piece that has been written is a huge fantasia on..The phantom of the Opera!

Stay tuned for next releases and you’ll be able to read an interview with the arranger shortly, where he talks about how he conceived this works on such a difficult instrument!
